Casting Offers

[From an actor's perspective]
Instead of an actor getting instantly cast for a project, it would be helpful to receive a Casting Offer including important project information* from the creator that the actor could then accept or deny if they agree to the terms of the project.
Examples of information in the Casting Offer might include:
- (more in-depth) character breakdown and character artwork
- expected working date range (start and end dates) / timeframe for project completion
- final audio format requirements and audio delivery preferences
- project communication preferences (ie. Discord, email, CCC, etc)
- how the audio will be used / where to project will be shared
- project rating (eg. E, 16+, 18+, etc.)
- project type (eg. audiobook, animation, video game, etc.)
- if paid, how / when it will be payed
- expectations of the actor (ie. attend live table reads, attend live events related to the project, edit their own audio (vs submitting raw), submitting each line individually, etc.)

Dope Idea, totally seconding this.

There also needs to be functions in place so that the creator cannot circumvent the system. Many creators are just having aquditions, closing the roles and never finishing the process or correctly casting the role but instead syphon the auditionees onto their own discord servers and never return to finish the actual project

I second this a lot, too. One can outline such information in the listing, but, sadly, quite a few people don't read it when they audition. I have people that I cast for a role, but then I require, say, to direct them, and they shy away and remark, "I didn't know you'd require directing." But that was listed on the actual listing above the audition spots, and then also in the audition spot.
A button for 'Offer Role' instead of just 'Cast' might be an intermediary that then produces this custom-written page by the creator for the VA to review and respond to. On that page could be the 'Agreed' button, and once the VA signs it, they're cast.

I love that idea so much. Since I am highly experienced in voice over, who has been doing voice over for 13 years now and auditioning for roles for 8 years. (Update: i didn't do this for less than 10 years. I did VO for over 10 years.

I love the idea, and I think timeframe should have a separate filter to search by too. As a voice actor, I'm scared to audition for too many things because often times directors, especially younger directors, fail to say whether a project takes a week or a year, an hour a week, or 10 hours a week. From the perspective of a young aspiring director myself, I've done my research and many other directors often have troubles with cast members dropping out mid project.

Is this after the casting director has decided on which audition they'd like to cast on their project? Or is this about project creators approaching users to recruit and offer a role to them?
The former would typically be explained in the project page and reviewed before users audition to the project- but it's not a bad feature to have those who have been cast to confirm to the director's terms before accepting the role. Kinda like to double check y'know?
The latter would rock as a professional and easy way for project creators to recruit for their project if they already have someone in mind. I've had people approach me to try out for their project or have already decided to cast me if I accepted their offer- and a form like this would probably help those who would like to reach out to users in that fashion.

core: I have a feeling the initial request was to make it so the casting process would have an additional "short list" step, allowing the casting director and talent to then get the project-specific information laid out so that both parties are on the same page regarding expectations and so that both can then agree and commit to the project.
Personally think this would be a great idea, especially in those instances where casting calls don't list certain particulars in the public casting call - similar to how some other casting sites operate out in the wild.
