Restrict the creation of Paid Casting Calls to Subscribers.

I've concluded that most concerns regarding paid roles can be alleviated by restricting the creation of paid casting calls to subscribers. In my opinion, if you can't afford to subscribe to CCC, then how can you afford to pay your talent? Keep in mind that project deferral is merely a promise of payment, not a guarantee, so until you're paid, your labor is considered free. Such an implementation would boost confidence in paid roles, reduce fraudulent ones, and generate revenue for the platform. I see no valid reason not to implement this.

Sometimes a creator has a very small budget that they can only afford to use on talent, not extras like advertising/being a Premium CCC member. A lump sum budget can't necessarily withstand an ongoing fee like Premium membership, especially if the casting process drags on longer than expected (a common experience in the indie world, where a lot of participants have day jobs or families or college). I understand your logic, but why would a creator pay the site AND talent when their tiny budget's better preserved on a site where they can list it for free? Heck, it would be more economical for the creator to just list it as an unpaid project on CCC, which obviously doesn't benefit the talent as much.
Anyone who only wants to audition for Featured projects/Premium CCC users can already do so at their own discretion. Maybe there could be a "Featured Projects only" filter added under Advanced Filters to expedite your searching.
I just wanted to leave a comment because I definitely do --> not <-- support putting the creation of paid projects behind a paywall.

jesterfeathers, I 100% get what you're saying, but in this specific case, I disagree. The cost of an entry level CCC sub is only $15 per month, or $4 per month if paid annually. If someone really has to choose between supporting the platform they source talent from, with the option for payment deferral available, vs. splitting that $15 between however many applicants they need, I simply cannot see the point of being able to list a paid casting call in the first place. If people are interested in your project for $2, then they'll be interested for free, or if deferred. But at the end of the day, this is only my suggestion, and I'm glad you voiced your opposition.

The people who have Featured their projects are paid subscribers. So this is already implemented in part.
I will think about adding another check for paid calls.

Buford Taylor, thank you for responding. The reason I requested this feature, is because, unless I'm mistaken unpaid projects can also be featured by CCC subscribers, and my suggestion is only meant specifically for paid casting calls, as a basic form of unmoderated QA.
In my opinion, most people who are advertising single digit or low amounts are either doing so as a place-holder, or more likely to act as a free version of the featured projects, to stand out from unpaid castings, witch in my opinion reduces the value of a project feature.
However, I'm not a dev, nor a site manager so I could be completely wrong, but food for thought. Kind Regards, Rouce.

Potential interesting idea but it may cause people to just post paid wirk on x or bluesky instead and bypass ccc.

CashlinSnow, I get what you're saying, but the entry subscription for CCC is only $15 per month, or $4 per month for an annual sub, and if someone can't afford that because they need to split said $15 between however many applicants, then why bother offering payment at all, rather than payment deferral? Maybe I'm just lazy, but I'm not opening an X or Bluesky account for the potential of getting paid $2 or $3.
