The new project page UI is great, but it could be improved.

I think the new UI for project pages is great, but I think there's a couple of things that could be improved.
- I think the main thing that could be improved (at least visually) is moving the auditions into the empty space between the project description and closing credits.
- You can no longer search through roles. You can't filter out the closed roles and that's a little annoying. Some projects have several roles, and being able to filter out the ones that are closed makes sifting through much easier. Another part of this is that you can't filter by role gender. This was already bugged in the previous UI, but again if you were able to filter out by role gender it would make sifting through much easier.
- This might be just me, but it kinda sucks that you cant click on a role to open it separately anymore. I, personally, used this as a way to listen to other auditions so I could make my own voice. I also used it as a way to read the audition lines better (I would zoom in to make them bigger. This also might be a cool idea to have on its own, some way to make the lines bigger and more easily readable).
Well, I think that's about it on my feedback. I hope that some of these changes/features get added. If not, then I hope that this is at least read and considered. Anyways, thanks for reading.

I believe the new UI is bad and I've used CCC since 2016, each update to the UI just made it less and less intuitive and harder to manage the project.
I am only saying all of this because I enjoy using CCC since 2016 and just... each update to the UI feels like 1 step forward but 3 backwards. I hope the UI can return to its former intuitive glory with the new features and adjustments at the same time! Tags were a great idea. I hope the things I list are helpful in anyway, I'm no UI designer but I do feel it's so hard to navigate CCC these days.
Here are some points:
- The project page, it feels too zoomed in and squished now. There's nothing on the left side of the page and instead what used to be there is now squished into the rest of the page. No, I'm not zoomed in, I'm at 100% (normal). I feel as if 75% zoom is how it should actually look.
- The character/role list feels too squished again. The 3 audition lines feel too close together and makes for a harder read to distinguish them from one another. The picture and font feels too big.
- I recall the previous UIs throughout the years were much easier to read and navigate. With clear headings/boxes that divide up the different characters/roles in a nice organized way. And slowly it the UI moved away from being intuitive to just harder and harder to navigate and look at.
I have uploaded pictures of the current UI vs UI from a long time ago (Not mine, but I recall it looking like this.):
- The current one, there's too much white and because avatars are bigger, it feels more cluttered. Auditions in the current UI are automatically closed, it's only until you click "Toggle Submissions" that they show up, but then once they do, it just gives a huge list, with avatars that are too big you'll have to scroll more than you needed to originally. The older UI is much easier on the eyes and uses space more effectively. It used to feel like at a glance I could tell that I'm looking at one role and then intuitively tell when I'm looking at another role, with clear seperation and organization if that makes sense.
--------------------------
Other points would be why is it that when I'm at the homepage I can't look at "Open Projects" anymore and have to be on Dashboard in order to look for them. It used to be on the homepage and now it's gone?
Why is it when I try to use the Search function to look for a project, it doesn't feel like it's showing me a list of things relating to what I'm after. Like say I want to look for a Casting Call for an Abridged Parody. I type in "Abridged" but it shows up with Cast Credits or some user with the Abridged in their name. I used to be able to find and navigate through Abridged Projects quite easily back then.

Contrary opinion. I think the new UI is bad. Casting Call Club from 6 years ago was more intuitive than every update Buford has made to the site since.

Dirty Daniel: Feedback like this is a good first step. But I can't fix anything unless you go into specifics. Tell me exactly why it's bad. In as much detail as possible.

Buford Taylor: To navigate to open casting calls you can't just click on title button at the top of the page anymore, you've hidden it behind the drop down dashboard, then you have to look to the left to find the page. That's not very intuitive, you had it done well when it was at the top of the front page.
Then you moved the "my profile" off the drop down, again putting it on the left hand side which you only see if you get to the dashboard. That change was also less intuitive than what you had before.
We can't see audition upvotes anymore so we can't even look at examples of good auditions to reference for improvement.
You didn't need to hide that because there wasn't even a downvote button.
The profile menu is clunky now, and I do not like the Twitter UI, I preferred what you had originally.
I'm grateful for your website, but every time I see a new update it just makes the website harder to use. I really liked what you had going on in 2020. If its possible, could you do a preference setting where we can reset to an older build of Casting Call Club?

Additionally bring back the ability to sort the auditions by cast or rejected roles. I can't even review a project anymore to see the audition of whoever got cast. It doesn't show up on the auditions drop down. When it says "Role Assigned to:" I click on their name and it takes me to their profile instead of their audition.
Also, I can't find the options for notifications anymore to be notified if someone auditions to a project I own.

Dirty Daniel: Agree, being able to see what auditions got rejected is something I think should absolutely be brought back.

I think my first point can probably be scratched/altered. I haven't seen many project with long descriptions, so I hadn't seen the description reach past the Closing Credits ad. I think another way to potentially fix this would be to make the Closing Credits ad and the "about the project creator" smaller, or simply putting them both either side of the description.
